Arthritis Treatment

Arthritis treatment drugs can suppress your symptoms, but they will not heal your arthritis. At best, they will slow down or temporarily stop the damage being done to your joints, giving you time to seek out alternative arthritis treatments that heal the underlying condition. At worst, they will produce side effects that can sometimes be as bad as the arthritis itself.

Acupuncture and acupressure are both ancient Chinese treatments for pain relief. They are gaining popularity in the United States as a complementary therapy to any arthritis treatment used today. When acupuncture is used as an arthritis treatment, long needles are placed in specific spots throughout the body to stimulate the endorphins. When acupressure is performed, the practitioner uses their fingers in place of the needles for this type of arthritis treatment. This also releases endorphins that have the anti-inflammatory properties that are needed to help with the pain relief.

Natural arthritis treatment is an alternative to some of the riskier treatment options. One of the more traditional treatments is NSAIDs. These are cox-2 inhibitors which work to relive the pain and inflammation associated with arthritis. Because individuals end up taking so many, these are considered dangerous. They can damage internal organs and even cause internal bleeding. Another treatment is joint replacement or surgery and this is risky for obvious reasons. With all surgeries, there is risk and you simply can't be sure if the joint replacement is going to be successful or not.

The ALCAT blood test is one way to discover if you have any food sensitivities and if so, exactly what they are. Selectively eliminating any suspected problem foods from your diet for a week and then systematically reintroducing them, with at least 24 hours between each reintroduction, is another.

This type of arthritis treatment is two fold. First you most know exactly what your problem foods are. Second, you must know all the hidden sources of these foods, so you don't unknowingly eat them. For instance, table salt is half dextrose, half salt. The dextrose in the United States is made from corn. Individuals with corn sensitivities will sometimes have their arthritis activated whenever they eat food that contains table salt.
